A few changes

I decided to change the theme to the blog to something….lighter. Before the background was black with an orange theme. While I liked it I felt that some viewers may find it hard to read and for many that can be a turn off. I also edited the font in my previous post. I’m still not sure how/why it was like that but I sure wish WordPress had a font editor here instead of stepping back out into Word.

Since being unemployed I’ve been busying myself in various ways. This blog has helped take some of my time, online surveys, and paid to click sites -which help earn cash- not to mention a little freelancing as well. I’m glad to have been able to find these venues though I am very much the novice and am overlooked quite often. I take it all in stride however with a smile plus the same determination to move forward regardless of anything that may happen.

Recently I accepted employment with the USFS but since my employment doesn’t officially start until May 10 I still deem myself out of work. I very much look forward to my time there and though it is only for five months I am all too excited about being back in the field. You would think that with all the free time (out of paid work since August; completed an volunteer internship in Kenya) I could have gone many a place hiking, taking photos or just enjoying the brisk air. On the contrary, I say. It is quite difficult to keep putting out money for expenses when the amount coming in is insufficient. So I am indeed very anxious to return to the forests, the signature of the southeast (with the exception of Florida’s rolling wetlands).

Oh, speaking of Florida that reminds me: the next states to be completed are California, Connecticut, and Colorado for having schools with Environmental programs.  I decided to do the four states which lack fellow states starting with the same letter as a group (Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii). I hope to have it done within reasonable timing but I won’t try to promise a date this go around since I failed to follow through last time. I really have to work on personal deadlines by creating a consequence of some sort. I don’t know. It was so much easier in school. Enough of my rambling for the day. I’m off to see what articles are available.

Congrats to the graduates this year! Especially to my brother at FSU!
